Life is evolutionary. Well mine certainly has been. You’ll be able to track my evolution through the photos here. And the photos themselves represent an evolution.
As you may have guessed I like to take pictures. I like to take family pictures. I like to take random pictures. I like to travel and take pictures. I like to take cat photos. As my photography has evolved, the quality of my photos has improved.
Once upon a time I liked to bake bread. I LOVED to bake bread. Thus the name if my website. I baked all kinds of bread, always from scratch, more often with ‘wild yeast’, commonly known as sourdough. You will find lots of bread photos here. But then…
Perhaps the largest driver of my evolution occurred in 2012. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. For most of the time since my diagnosis life continued as usual. But then my MS progressed and my legs weakened. I’m no longer able to stand in my kitchen, so the bread baking came to a halt.
Enter my renewed interest in photography. It’s easy to take pictures sitting down. I have an extended family, of which I’m rather fond. A brother, his wife and their 3 kids. A sister, her husband and their 3 kids. All 6 of the kids are grown. 3 of them are married and one just became a mom. Their stories will appear in pictures.
My travels have taken me from Western Canada to Europe to Africa, with lots of places in between. My most frequent travel companion used to get annoyed when I was constantly stopping to take pictures. But when she saw some of the finished work she understood. And while my current condition makes travel a little more challenging, I have no intention to stop.
Lastly, the cats. I have 2. And before them I had 2 others. I grew up in an anti-cat household. It turns out my mother was seriously cat phobic. No matter. We had dogs. At some point I started dating a woman who had a cat. I liked her so I figured I better like the cat. It turns out I loved the cat. So I got one, and then another. I am now a confirmed cat lover, so there will be lots of cat photos.
That’s pretty much my story and I’m sticking to it!
Kyle
