Frank & Ernest
Small doesn't begin to describe my first bread baking kitchen in the city. It had 18 inches of counter space and no drawers. I built a rolling cart with shelves and strapped a power strip to it. On the top shelf was a marble board and my stand mixer. The cart was kept in the living room.

It was in this kitchen I first tried to tame wild yeast. Meet Frank & Ernest, my first two starters. As starters require care & feeding, like children, I was told they should have names.
